SENIOR MANAGER: CORPORATE AFFAIRS AND COMMUNICATION
The job holder is responsible for managing, coordinating and driving the execution of Corporate Affairs and Communication unit operations, in line with the functional policies, strategies, operational plans, programmes, processes and standards, and in alignment with the overall ZACL strategy.
Key Performance Areas
Provide input into the development of Corporate Affairs strategy
Manage and coordinate the operations of the unit to meet all goals, targets and timelines and create value for the business unit and overall ZACL strategy
Review of the performance of the unit and effectiveness of operational plans & KPI’s
Conduct continuous monitoring and ensure appropriate management of risks that might affect the operations of Corporate Affairs and Communication units
Develop, review and manage the execution of Corporate Affairs and Communication unit’s operational framework (i.e. policies and procedures)
Forge close relations with other business functions managers to ensure effective delivery of business strategy
Sourcing for goods and services upon receipt of approved purchase requisitions from stores and end users to maintain international standards
Manage and drive the execution of corporate affairs and communication strategy and operational plans
Conduct research and keep abreast of new corporate affairs and communication models, systems and best practices
Act as corporate spokesperson, in line with the relevant delegations
Manage and coordinate the implementation of corporate social responsibility programmes
Promote positive corporate image and branding to uphold corporate reputation Direct and monitor the provision of external and internal communication
Manage the design and distribution of corporate communication content, messaging, platforms and targeted audience strategy management
Manage and monitor the provision of public relations programmes Manage and coordinate the provision of corporate events
Manage and coordinate the provision of protocol services in collaboration with the relevant internal and external stakeholders
Coordinate and manage the execution of project plans that support ZACL’s vision and short-and long-term plans
Drive the implementation of strategic projects and initiatives
Provide guidance, expertise and advice to managers on trends, best practice and applicable policies and legislation
Drive the execution of continuous improvement plans to ensure optimisation of operations, and processes, innovation and business continuity
Monitor the delivery of the projects’ outcomes in line with the business unit strategy and overall ZACL Strategy
Manage the Unit’s budget planning, expenditure and forecasting needs for future financing
Ensure cost optimisation within the Business Unit by demonstrating a financial sustainability culture that supports ZACL’s overall financial strategy
Manage the execution of all business unit operations in line with the agreed upon budget and ensuring value for money outcomes for the Business Unit
Manage, mentor and empower employees to promote high performance, optimal working environment, improving employee morale and cost-effective operations
Drive a high performance culture by taking accountability for an effective and well- articulated performance management process
Guide and influence employees by embedding the values and desired culture in line with ZACL transformation strategy
Manage and coordinate the resourcing through recruitment and filling of positions
Ensure and monitor that all staff are trained, skilled, retained and that their expertise is optimally applied
Foster organisational culture and climate that is customer centric and value driven aligned to the ZACL shared values
Manage the implementation of the human resources policies, procedures and practices Establish, manage and maintain strategic relationships and networks with internal and
external stakeholders
Participate in various operational structures (internal and external) Monitor and report on progress against the set strategic initiatives
Report on legislative and statutory compliance as defined by the ZACL, Government and relevant Professional Bodies
Facilitate the submission of mandatory reports on the operations and performance of the unit as required (quarterly, monthly, weekly, yearly)
Maintain operations, service and compliance and participate in ZACL’s governance structures
Qualifications
Grade 12 certificate with 5 O’ level credits or better including English and Mathematics
Bachelor’s Degree in Mass Communication or equivalent/ Bachelor’s Degree in relevant field or equivalent
Aviation or Regulatory specific training courses as added advantage
Experience
At least 5 years work experience of which two (02) years in a managerial capacity Professional
Professional Membership
Member of Public Relations Institute, Zambia Institute of Marketing or Airport Public Relations
