1st November 2024 – Zambia Airports Corporation Limited (ZACL) is proud to announce that Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe International Airport (SMKIA) has been awarded the prestigious title of "Best International Airport – Regional" for Southern Africa at the World Luxury Travel Awards 2024. The award was presented at the gala ceremony held at AYANA Bali, Indonesia.
Established in 2006, the World Luxury Travel Awards are the pinnacle of achievement in the luxury industry offering international recognition as voted by guests, travellers and industry players alike. Travel institutions have the opportunity to participate in the awards by entering categories that showcase their unique selling points and destinations. Over 300,000 international travellers vote each year during a four-week period to select winners.

About Zambia Airports Corporation Limited
Zambia Airports Corporation Limited was established in 1989 through the amendment of the Aviation Act, Chapter 444 of the Laws of Zambia which has been repealed and replaced by the Aviation Act No. 5 of 2016. It is also incorporated under the Companies Act No. 10 of 2017.
The Corporation’s mandate is to develop, maintain and manage the four designated international airports, namely Kenneth Kaunda in Lusaka, Simon Mwansa Kapwepwe in Ndola, Harry Mwaanga Nkumbula in Livingstone and Mfuwe, plus select provincial aerodromes and the provision of Air Navigation Services within the Zambian Airspace.
